Gin Buck an underated classic
The gin buck is a really refreshing drink it is not
too sweet, not too strong. Ginger ale has long been
the best high ball mixer and to me this is the best
high ball going. It is hard to find a bartender who
knows what a gin buck is. But when you do you will
remember to order it when you are at that establishment
I always like it with ginger ale right from the bottle
and not from the fountain. Too many times that ginger
ale is weak and has no bite. Enjoy!

This is my absolute favorite highball. Juniper and ginger go together as well as tomato and basil. It should be noted that you can make an equally valid version by substituting lime juice for the lemon juice. And if you can find a place where someone knows the drink by name, make that bar your hangout because he/she is a good barkeep.
Gin Buck
My suggestion is to use Vernors Ginger Ale. It really is the best and makes a difference when you want a great Gin Buck.
Very Good Drink
By Bane to Humanity
Gin Buck is great, and its one of the easiest things to make - usually these ingredients are lying around ur house. It tastes good, better than rum and coke, rum highball, vodka and sprite, rye and ginger, gin and tonic - all of em. Sure it wont get you drunk as fast as doing shots, but its a great tasting drink if you're willing to have 5 or 6 of em.
Score!

I have been trying several drinks at parties and such, and this drink was by far the favorite. i have to agree that the juniper and the ginger go very well together...

Gin Buck is just fine!

I use Vernor's diet ginger ale. As a diabetic I watch my sugar/fat intake. The "buck" is a very refreshing drink especially in Houston's heat & humidity. This is the first website where I found it.
Thanks!
yum!
If you like a super-gingery flavor you can add fresh ginger to an otherwise ordinary simple syrup recipe, cook it down, and strain out the ginger solids. Then use 1 T. ginger syrup plus seltzer (as much as the ginger ale in the original recipe) and gin.
Gin Bucket

I’ve been introduced to a different variation of this drink. It’s where you take a beer bucket (the tin ones where you can get a couple of longnecks in with ice). You take two trays of ice and put it in the bottom of the bucket and add the gin until the ice is just floating. Then add about 1/3 of a tube of frozen lemonade concentrate. Pour sprite into the bucket until it just about full (so you can stir it and it still doesn’t flow over the top). For the last part of it take lime juice and put as much as you feel needed, until the taste is just right for you and serve (the lime really kills the strong gin flavor if you don’t like a hard tasting drink but still want the effects). This was introduced to me at a college party and it’s still going strong because its easy to make and every can enjoy it and get messed up before hitting the hard stuff.
when with lime or lemon
By luke
if u want to add lime or lemon the best way to get the taste of the fruit without the souer taste of the citrus, cut them in half then cut them so the meat/inside of the fruit is of and just use the skin
