I am more familiar with using peach nectar (say Kern's) instead of peach schnapps.

Best Bellini
By Janada Oakley

The Bellini is best if frozen and blended. A resturant in Dallas has a machine they use just to make them come out like an ICEE. They also add Bicardi Rum. Best drink I have ever had.

0/5
Cactus Club Bellini: the best!

Cactus Club (a Canadian restaurant chain) makes the best Bellinis. They serve it a slushie with champagne, rum, peach schnapps, and sangria! Yummy!

The Original Bellini
By dclarr@hotmail.com

You haven't appreciated the profound flavor of this drink until you have one at Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. The original (and as it is made today), is a simple preparation of Prosecco (the champagne of the Venetto region of Italy) mixed with the nectar of white peaches. It is one of the most quaffable drinks I have ever knocked back.

you people are nuts.
By George Rupp

you people are nuts. you can't make a bellini without delicious peaches that must be very ripe and juicy. Sure, some peach schnapps will liven up your Korbel, but if you actually want a real bellini, stick to a fruity champagne (avoid anything too yeasty) and always use fresh peach pulp.

Cactus Club DOES make the best Bellini
By jankeman@shaw.ca

I totally agree with that one person who says that the Cactus Club makes the best Bellinis. Many a hot Saturday afternoon were forgotten sitting on the patio at Cactus Club drinking these bad boys. Glad I finally got the recipe so I can make these on the houseboat trip

Bellini
By Softball@nol.net

I place in Hurst, Tx Italianni's makes the best Bellini it was Peach & Raseberry frozen swirled togather and I have tired making it and at other places and it just isn't the same. All the recipes calls for not frozen ones and none mention Peach & Raseberry togather. HELP!! I really want to make a good one. Houston, Texas

Bellinis

I first tried a Bellini at a restaurant in San Antonio called Johny Carinos and OMG those are the best things I have ever tasted. Frozen champagne swirled with Sangria, and real peaches swirled in there too. Excellently Yummy

Johny Carinos is the best!
By wep601@msn.com

Finally! I found a mention for the recipe for the best BELLINI I have had! Johny Carinos does make it different than all the basic recipes... and it is the best! I only hope I can duplicate that at home! It looks pretty tricky! :-)

Slushy bellini

You guys who mentioned the Cactus Club, you're familiar with Earl's then too. They also do that slushy bellini, it's like drinking a slurpee, yum.

Cactus club all th way
By java_junkie_1@hotmail.com

I thought Milestones Bellini's were pretty damn good until , I found Cactus Clubs, they are incredible. Couldn't imagine anyone even coming close to making them as good as theirs,if u haven't tried one , DO!! u haven't lived until u have had a Bellini brain freeze

5/5
Cactus Club once again!!!!

Like the others said you have to try this drink at the Cactus Club. First time I tried it was on my 20th Birthday and Ive been hooked since. Everytime I go there I have to order a couple ;). So, whenever in BC, dont forget to go out to the Cactus Club for the best Bellinis ever!!!

0/5
Barney

Milestones are exceptional. Has anyone tried Joey Tomatoes? Also very good. How could you have one that ISN'T a slushy? I couldn't imagine.

Canadian in Texas

As a Canadian living in Texas: I never thought I would find anything comparable to the Bellini's at Earl's and Joey Tomatoes down in Houston, and technically I haven't, but The Macaroni Grill has a pretty good substitute.

another 2 thumbs up for cactus club bellinis
By Kristi

I visited BC last week for the very first time and my friends said we just HAD to go to the Cactus Club to try the bellinis. Never having had a bellini before, I was extremely impressed and would have to say it's my favorite drink. I've tried them at a couple places here in the US, but I don't think they've come close to the one I had at Cactus Club.

Romano's Macaroni Grill has great Bellinis! Slushie style, soooooooooooooo smooth. Combined with the great food there, you can't go wrong!

I find Milestones' taste better that Cactus Club's or Earls, and they put those funky little plastic animals in them! We had a farm going!

By baby_chica@hotmail.com

Cactus Club definitely has the most excellent bellini I have ever had. Followed very closely by Earl's and Joey Tomato's. Moxie's isn't so bad, either. For all those in Calgary, help me find a bellini special for every day of the week. Monday - Joey Tomato's Tuesday - Cactus Club Cafe and Earl's Wednesday - Moxie's I have not found bellini specials for the other days of the week. Unless you count the "moxie-size" special on Saturdays.

Best bellini recipe
By Flying Lin

Blend ice, Peach schnapps, Jamacan rum, champane, splash of OJ, pour in margarita glass, garnish with fresh slice of peach.

Best Bellini is at Harry's Bar, in Venice, Italy

I agree with dclarr. Nothing even comes close to the original bellini created at Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. Tried all different bellinis everywhere else and could not find the same taste. The bellini at Romano's Macaroni Grill is just plain horrible! You can't say you have had the best bellini until you had one at Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy.

0/5

I had my first Bellini in Venice, Italy. You can't top the drink or the locale! I would like to know what Bellini translates to in English or how it got it's name. Does anyone know?

A beer drinker who never liked "fu-fu" drinks
By Steve

I tried a Bellini at the coaxing of a friend and have been hooked ever since. I enjoy mine with rum and a pretty lady sitting beside me.

0/5
bellini recipe

This is the closest recipe to the bellinis at the Cactus Club. One ounce of peach schnapps and two ounces of rum in the blender with about 1/2 cup ice and 3 to 4 tablespoons Peach Crystals (the most important part- Lipton's, or whatever will do), blend and then add about 3/4 cup champagne alternately with more ice till blender is about 3/4 full. Makes one or two. Pour a tiny bit of sangria in the glass first to get the great color.

mmmmm BELLINIS!!!!
By mickie008

I LOVE BELLINIS!!! The BEST place ever is to have it at Joey Tomatoes, that frozen peach slice makes it AWESOME!!!! Moxies and Earls pale in comparison. The Keg does it ok but instead of a slushie, it's kinda like a smoothie, still good tho!!! Can't wait to try it at the Cactus Club!!!

Swiss Chalet
By Ferris In BC

I'm a huge bellini fan and I was at Swiss Chalet last week here in Vancouver. I wouldn't think they'd have a good cocktail... but their bellini ROCKED... it had a touch of mango in it... mmm... mmm... good

Cactus Club is Jammin!

I went to Vancouver,BC last yr and holy mama...Cactus club had the best drink i've ever had!I got to experience the famous bellini brain freeze...what a rush!I went to whistler this yr and had to stop on the way up for another. Will always be a favourite!

THE BEST DRINK EVER!!!
By Daniela (djdani)

I'm sure every place tries to add a little signature of perfection for their Bellini's. In Toronto, I do believe that Milestone's does make the best. (The little animals they throw in the drinks as well, NICE TOUCH). I have to be honest now and say, BELLINI's have definitely topped my drink list. This is definitely a drink for both the female/male taste buds. BELLINI's all the way...CHEERS!!!

How to make an icy one?

But can someone tell me how to make one like the Cactus Club makes?

By Bellini Expert

You guys are nuts if you think a Bellini should resemble a slushie or an icee. It is clearly peach puree or nectar and champagne (or sparkling white wine). That is a Bellini. If you want the other stuff that resembles a kid's drink -- go to 711.

Cactus club got my vote too!!
By chelsea

I went to vancouver for my brother's graduation from UBC and we made a special stop to the Cactus club for me to try this amazing drink!! I'm glad I found this website so that I can try to duplicate it. Too bad I didn't know earlier about Harry's or i would have stopped by while I was there last month!!

Traditional1
By Traditional1

Bellinis are named after the 15th century painter Giovanni Bellini whose art decorates both churches in Venice and the prestigious and beautiful Uffizi in Florence. Have one in Venice; you may have to ask someone for directions, and WEAR PANTS!!! BTW Prosecco is the correct wine and it is sparkling wine not Champagne. Puree not pulp. No puree => not a Bellini. Save your slushies for your kids...

A Cactus Club staffer...

This may be biased... well... it is :) I've been working in the kitchen as a broiler for cactus club for 2 years now. It took me about 20 minutes of my first shift there to become addicted to them. I've tried the earls, joey's, and kegs.... jsut not the same!

Sunday Funday!
By Chris Dale

For anyone who lives in Houston Texas, the best place to have a Bellini is La Strada! If you go on a Sunday for brunch, be prepared for some DAMN Good Bellinis and a wild party! They have a DJ and the upstairs patio is insane! It will remind you of Ibiza or South Beach. As for the Bellinis, they are the slushie type and they are sooooo tasty!

The quest for the perfect Bellini
By Nadreck

Ok, I have tried Earls and a Calgary airport bar's and I decided I wanted to develop the perfect Bellini recipe. I did my research and the best I have come up with so far is a frozen one, but rather than my first attempt where I put peach puree and peach schnapps in an ice cream maker then turned it to slush then added champagne, I found a way, albeit possibly dangerous, to make heavenly frozen champagne that puree can be poured into. I take 375ML bottle of Cordoniu spanish champagne freeze it for 24 hours. Thaw just enough so that foam starts coming out around the cork, then over a bowl containing 375ML of refrigerated peach puree strained through cloth with 3Tbl of sugar and 3 dashes of Angustura bitters I upend the bottle unwire the cork with the top of the cork already immersed in the puree, and 80% of the contents of the bottle comes out and instantly crystalizes in a foamed champagne slush, I quickly mix it all up pour into glasses and it is a slushy bellini. Note: I think there is a possibly of serious risk of explosion if you try to do this with a larger bottle, and even the size I am using may be risky, at the very least safety glasses might be a good idea with this one. Yes it was an accident the first time. The result made me risk repetition though.

Mr Paul Armstrong

There are many ways to serve a Bellini like cocktail and everyone has there own favourite but, a easy way to make one is to use 35ml of a good Peach Schnapps, 105 ml of a good Asti Spumanti and add thin slices of fresh light peaches which gives it a final classy touch.Enjoy in a stylish wine flute. Paul, Otterburn Tower Country House Hotel, Northumberland, England.

I love this drink and I have to agree that Milestones have the best Bellinis, however, I have moved to Australia and no one here has even heard of them and I can not find a good recipe for them ( the frozen kind) so if anyone has the recipe please let me know.

Bellinis and Sunday Brunch
By George and Ann Winston, Park City, UT

As much of a plug for the restaurant as it is for the drink, Blossom, in historic Charleston SC, provided the best this drink had to offer. Imagine a late spring Sunday brunch on a beuatifully landscaped outdoor patio, with historic churches and homes serving as the backdrop. The server suggested bloody Mary's but we were not game. "A Bellini, perhaps?", he said, followed by a brief explanation. We were sold. Blossom serves theirs frozen and to this day, we have yet to find one comparable. Was it the drink, or the overall style of the brunch? We weren't sure, but "cheers" we say to the inventor of the elegant and refreshingly perfect Sunday brunch beverage.

Moxie's Bellinis are divine!!!

This Canuck hasn't found a better one than Moxie's makes!!!

3/5

I am from Calgary,AB in Canada & love the bellinis at Moxies. They put champagne, sangria, grenadine,Jamaica rum,& peach schnappes in it. I have tried the drink at other restaurants but much prefer this one as it is slushy. Some places just mix the ingredients with crushed ice which is horrible!

Harry's does it right

A previous reviewer was spot on -- Harry's Bar in Venice invented the Bellini and still serves the best. Use any dry, sparkling wine like the Italian prosecco and peach nectar. Even my mother likes them!

bellini buff

If you're lookin' for a bellini fix and aren't fortunate enough to fly to Italy or visit B.C., your best bet is to head 2 Outback Steakhouse 4 a "Wallaby Darned" - it'll knock your socks off! If u think La Strada has the best bellinis in H-town...get over to Ruggles Grill 2 taste a bellini that is bar far the closest thing 2 perfect as it gets! If u r make it 2 the Hill Country hit Gruene River Grill and try a Sangria version 2 die 4 with awesome views!

My first Bellini was at Joey Tomatoes. I loved the extra slice of frozen peach that was added, what is is it soaked in :)? Yes have had them in a few other places around Calgary but Joeys is still #1. others have been to runny or just no punch to them at all. If you had one at Joeys Downtown you will know what I mean Again I say Yum Yum... now find me a drink please :)

Bellini

There are "basic" recipes for all drinks...and then there are the new creations. Look what happened to the Martini (I never thought I would try a chocolate martini!!). The "Bellini" was invented in Harry's Bar..no where else does it taste the same..the "frozen..add rasberries...rum" are all varations and should not be called a "Bellini"..there damn good, but not the original recipe.

We made this drink at our bar using vodka, champaigne, and peach shnapps. Everyone seemed to enjoy it very much however it did seem a bit on the sweet side; I'm going to have to say it's a ladies drink though, for all you male bellini drinkers.

Ok Bitches, the REAL bellini for f*cks sake

I had my first Bellini in Venice, Italy where they were invented SO thus I think I am quite familiar with the original recipe which is: Prosecco and White Peach Nectar. Now, the problem is that Prosecco is only sold in Italy, however, Spumante is pretty much the same thing soooo brava! you have your Bellini

a bellini is a bellini

i'm sure all these slushy drinks are tasty...but they're not a bellini. a bellini is by definition prosecco with white peach nectar.

Tel Aviv Bellinis

During a yearlong stay in Tel Aviv, my husband & I discovered a great restaurant: Bellini's. Needless to say, the food was great, but best of all we became quickly addicted to the slushy Bellinis. I would almost spend 15 hours on the plane to have another one!

Gruene River Grill has GREAT Bellinis
By Bellini lover from Beaumont, TX

I had my first Bellini in Gruene, TX, and it was FABULOUS! And even though "the original Bellini" came from Venice, Italy, it's o.k. to enjoy variations! That's the great part about America! We're eclectic! If anyone has this particular blended slushie recipe, complete with Sangria swirls, please share! I've become addicted!

14 euro
By ed@95206

The best? at a restaurant near San Marco vaporetto station. wink or a 4 Euro bottle of Canella. Or make your own by buying frozen white peaches puree from The Perfect Puree of Napa Valley and some Prosecco. 2 parts peach, 1 part prosecco. Nothing too fancy.

prosecco
By bjfromcincy

I had a bellini at a dinner party and wanted to try to make one at home. It's not true that prosecco is sold only in Italy....I just bought 2 bottles of Martini and Rossi Prosecco at my local supermarket. I couldn't find any kind of peach puree or even juice so I bought frozen Bacardi peach Daquiri mix. The taste is good but I was too impatient to let the wine chill properly :-) We have several of the chain restaurants mentioned here in Cincinnati so I think I'll make the rounds and try them all.
